UltraTile ProGrip FX delivers premium performance in Castlerock apartment development
SMC Tiling Contractor successfully completed the tiling of 13 premium apartments in Castlerock, Northern Ireland—including two penthouses and a basement unit—using UltraTile ProGrip FX adhesive.
Background
Nestled in the coastal town of Castlerock, a new residential development comprising 13 high-specification flats – featuring two luxury penthouses and a basement apartment – required a dependable, high-performance tile adhesive for various internal tiling applications. From private ensuites to shared communal spaces, consistent performance and versatility were critical for achieving the desired aesthetic and durability.
The Challenge
The project involved tiling in multiple environments with differing levels of foot traffic. The bathrooms and ensuites needed an adhesive that would perform well in wet conditions, whilst communal floors demanded a strong, flexible bond capable of withstanding daily wear and tear.
The Solution
SMC Tiling Contractor, selected for their expertise in high-end residential tiling, chose UltraTile ProGrip FX for all tiled areas throughout the project. This flexible, semi-rapid setting adhesive was ideal for floor and wall installations across a wide range of tile types and substrates.
Key benefits of UltraTile ProGrip FX on this project:
- Semi-Rapid setting: Allowed for early foot traffic and faster project turnaround without compromising
- FibreBond Technology: Formulated with added fibre particles for superior non-slip properties and thixotropic behaviour.
- Flexible Formula: Perfect for substrates subject to movement, including underfloor heating.
- Strong Bond Strength: Ensured tiles stayed firmly in place.
